What’s New in Business Central 2026 Release Wave 2
Business Central 2026 release wave 2 (version 29) puts AI agents to work across finance, purchasing and expenses, and gives you more control over how your reports and documents look. Released in October 2026, it also brings faster supply chain and manufacturing workflows, better Shopify integration and expanded sustainability tracking for Australian and New Zealand businesses.
Using Wiise? Wiise is built on Business Central, so these improvements are relevant to Wiise customers too. As a Wiise Elite Partner, Momentum can tell you when they’ll reach your Wiise environment and how to make the most of them.

Key New Features
These are the top features we think you’ll love the most, but there are so many more great improvements in this release. For a comprehensive list of new features, see the full release notes
AI and Agents: Payables Agent purchase order matching
The Payables Agent now matches vendor invoices to purchase orders using single item amounts and expected goods receipts. Fewer invoices need manual handling, and accounts payable moves faster.
AI and Agents: Expense Agent
Capture and approve expenses with AI-driven approvals, mileage calculated by vehicle type and date range, automatic tax calculation and stronger duplicate detection.
AI and Agents: One place to manage agent tasks
A dedicated task pane brings together work from all agents. Review agent-generated content directly on the page, and get notified on lists when an agent action needs your approval.
Reporting: Branded document reports
Create report themes and reusable headers and footers, then apply them across the company, a single report or a single layout. Use the updated Word add-in to design layouts with conditional visibility.
Finance: Combined and audited financial reports
Run several financial reports at once and get a single PDF. Changes to financial reports are now always logged, and you can trace where each G/L account is used.
Supply Chain: Direct transfers from warehouse locations
Post direct transfer orders from warehouse-enabled locations, with no need to step through separate shipment and receipt documents.
Manufacturing: Simpler subcontracting and quality control
Carry subcontracting instructions onto purchase orders, use inventory put-aways and picks for subcontracted work, and spend less time on quality tests and inspections.
